Dr. Kristen Moore is a psychologist who received her Masters of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology degrees from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.
She currently works in private practice providing treatment services in the areas of counselling and clinical psychology with adults, adolescents, and families.
Dr. Moore has experience in working with mood and anxiety disorders, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, anger and stress management, interpersonal violence and other interpersonal challenges. She conducted her doctoral research on eating disorders and provides interpersonal and cognitive-behavioural therapy to treat disordered eating and body image concerns.
Before joining the Therapy Centre, Dr. Moore previously worked with adolescents and families in a high school in Oakland, California, primarily treating emotional trauma, grief and loss. She has also worked with homeless women and children and facilitated individual and group psychotherapy at a domestic violence safe house. During the past three years, Dr. Moore has worked in University counselling centres throughout Northern California.
Dr. Moore uses a client-centred, relational approach in her work with clients, believing that a warm, nurturing environment is essential in facilitating change and healing.
