Dr. Dawn Cowling, C.Psych
Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Dawn Cowling completed her Doctorate in Clinical and Counselling Psychology in the Applied Psychology and Human Development Department at the University of Toronto. Her research encompasses the areas of bereavement and loss, occupational stress, and the bonds between humans and animals.
Dr. Cowling offers evidence-based therapy, employing approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for adult clients. By conducting diagnostic assessments, she formulates tailored treatment plans and cultivates a collaborative therapeutic alliance to cater to the unique needs of each client. Her areas of proficiency encompass Anxiety disorders (such as General Anxiety, Panic, or Agoraphobia), Obsessive and Compulsive Disorder, Mood Disorders (including depression and bipolar), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as Adjustment, Personality, Trauma, and Stressor-Related Disorders.
Dr. Cowling has received training and worked with both individual and groups in several clinical settings including CBT Associates, the North York General Hospital Adult Day Program, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Providence Care Mental Health Hospital, The Mount Sinai Family Health Team, and the OISE Psychology Clinic.
Dr. Cowling works out of the Toronto Location as well as providing virtual services throughout Ontario.
