Dr. Mich Monette completed their Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Windsor. She provides both assessment and treatment services to adults.

Mich is experienced in the assessment and treatment of adults with mood and anxiety disorders, and has a special interest in chronic pain, chronic illness, and medically complex cases. She has experience treating the mental and cognitive impacts of TBI, post-concussion syndrome, long COVID, and most medical conditions that impact mental and cognitive functioning. Their dissertation research focused on improving self-care and quality of life in individuals with diabetes.

Her approach to therapy integrates a variety of treatment modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), along with individually tailored interventions targeted at increasing daily and interpersonal functioning.

Mich is supportive and empathetic and tries to work collaboratively with clients to empower them to achieve their treatment goals and take steps to making lasting behaviour changes that will improve their overall quality of life and well-being. Their approach is non-judgemental, anti-oppressive, and focused on using evidence-based practice to help clients take care of themselves and achieve fulfilment from life.

Mich’s professional background includes training experiences in inpatient and outpatient settings at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Hamilton General Hospital and Regional Rehabilitation Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre, and Windsor Regional Hospital. She has also worked in university assessment clinics, private practice, and community mental health settings.
