Dr. Padda is a registered Psychologist who received her Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Toronto, and her Doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Irvine California. Dr. Padda currently works in private practice, providing assessment and counselling services to adolescents and adults.
Dr. Padda is a certified perinatal mental health clinician, with a focus on prenatal/postnatal mental health, infertility, child loss and grief. Dr. Padda’s 12+ years of clinical experience and areas of interests also include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, relational issues, academic-related anxiety, and inter-generational conflict. Dr. Padda works with clients involved in motor vehicle accidents, as well as WSIB.
Dr. Padda takes an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to the needs and disposition of her clients. Her main framework included Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness training and cognitive processing, through a humanistic approach.
Dr. Padda has a breadth of experience working in outpatient care. She has worked at the York University Counselling Centre, has provided psychological services in a rural setting in Burns Lakes, BC, has worked with youth in the foster care system, provided in-depth assessment and therapy at a community clinic in Oakland, California, and was the leading therapist at a high school in northern California. More recently, Dr. Padda has been working in private practice.
Dr. Padda recognizes the strength and courage therapy entails, and ensures to provide her clients with a safe and collaborative environment. There is an emphasis on building and fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship, which is the foundation that allows for personal growth.
Dr. Padda is a member in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
