Kerri Stone is a Registered Psychotherapist, having maintained registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario since 2016. Her integrated educational and career journey in the field of children’s mental health has spanned 20 years and includes a 3-year diploma program in Child & Youth Work, a 4-year BA in Psychology with specialization in Developmental Psychology, and a Master’s of Science degree in Pediatric Psychosocial Care. Prior to entering private practice, Kerri maintained a long-standing career with an accredited children’s mental health agency supporting children, parents, and families to achieve greater mental wellness. She has also held positions providing clinical services in youth residential programs as well as both inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings.

Kerri shares specialized knowledge and experience in infant, child, and adolescent mental health and development. She is passionate about enhancing mental wellness by providing children, youth, parents, and families with support and strategies to maintain optimal family functioning and parent-child relationships. She has extensive experience treating anxiety and related disorders, emotion regulation challenges, depression, OCD, self-esteem, ADHD, relationship difficulties, self-harming behaviour and traumatic stress.

Kerri’s practice is informed by attachment, development, and trauma-based approaches. Her training and experience comprises the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. She also holds specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is in the final process of attaining certification at the national-level in this framework.

Kerri Stone brings special ability and attention to the enhancement of the therapeutic relationship implementing a collaborative, strengths-based approach while demonstrating empathy and compassion for all family members and their experiences.
