Kyla Baird, M.A., is a Ph.D Candidate in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program at York University in Toronto. She works with children, adolescents and families and has a breadth of experience in comprehensive psychological assessments, individual, group and family-based therapies.
She has interests and experience in working with children and youth with anxiety and mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, self-esteem difficulties, Eating Disorders and behaviour problems. Kyla incorporates elements of interpersonal therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in treatment. She has a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders and uses Family-Based Therapy as the primary intervention.
Kyla has received professional training and has worked in diverse settings including; the outpatient, inpatient and day treatment Eating Disorder programs at the Hospital for Sick Children, the Reach Out Centre for Kids in Oakville, the York University Psychology Clinic, and the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.
Kyla provides a warm, non-judgmental and safe space for all clients. She utilizes a collaborative approach to assure clients and families feel supported throughout treatment.
