Mary received her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto as a mature student and has been providing individual and couples therapy privately in Oakville since 2004.
She enjoys working with all ages, helping children, adolescents and adults develop effective strategies to manage a variety of difficulties, including mood and anxiety disorders, relationship and work stress, general stress management, self-esteem issues as well as grief and loss. In addition to individual counselling, Mary also has extensive training and experience with Couples Therapy.
In a safe, warm and supportive environment, Mary offers strategies from both the Emotion-Focused (EFT) and Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT) Therapy models with a goal to helping her clients achieve their goals and regain a sense of well-being and balance in their lives.
In addition to her experience in private practice, Mary has co-facilitated groups focusing on mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorder and parenting with the Canadian Mental Health Association, TEACH and the Hospital for Sick Children.
She has also worked at the Student Counselling Centres in the University of Toronto and Humber College.
Mary brings to her work both her professional training, a warm, caring presence as well as the practical and interpersonal skills she learned as a devoted parent, spouse, daughter, sibling, friend and colleague.
