Nikki Venere Brenner is a clinical psychology student who is in the process of completing her Doctorate (Psy.D) at Capella University. Additionally, she is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She received a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Psychology at the University of Liverpool, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Toronto.
At The Therapy Centre, Nikki provides psychological assessments, while under supervision, and psychotherapeutic treatment to adults struggling with anxiety, mood related disorders, trauma, personality disorders, eating disorders, motor vehicle accidents, addiction, and impulse control issues.
Her approach to treatment is client focused, with an emphasis on psychoanalysis and existentialism. Additionally, Nikki integrates her therapeutic approach by utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Nikki’s primary aim involves establishing a warm and welcoming atmosphere to help individuals be present and learn how to tolerate and manage their thoughts, feelings, and experiences more effectively.
