Dr. Hemal Shroff is a Clinical and School psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida, which included an internship (predoctoral residency) at Schneider Children’s Hospital (now Cohen’s Children Hospital) in Long Island, New York. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Her areas of interest and expertise include diagnostic assessment and the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and adults.
Dr. Shroff uses evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) approaches in her treatment and has provided assessment and therapy services in multiple settings including private clinics, hospitals, non-government organizations, educational institutions and school boards.
Dr. Hemal Shroff has extensive experience in working with individuals who present with difficulties with anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationship issues, stress, immigrant distress, behaviour management, self esteem, ADHD, Autism, acculturation, and/or body image.
In her approach to treatment, Dr. Shroff endeavours to create a favourable and positive atmosphere for the client to identify their own therapeutic goals and work towards them in a structured, yet flexible manner.
