Dr. Samantha Daskaluk obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor. Her research focused on young women’s experiences with cyber sexual and dating aggression and how it impacts their mental health and relationships. Sam provides assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and parents.
Before joining The Therapy Centre, Sam obtained training in a variety of settings: a university clinic, a community mental health center, private practices, a school board, and outpatient hospital services. She has extensive training in psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments.
With respect to therapy, Sam provides Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Emotion-Focused Skills Training (EFST). She also incorporates aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) into treatment.
Sam works with children and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of mental health concerns involving anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion dysregulation, OCD, ADHD, aggression, body image issues, perfectionism, gender/sexuality, and others.
Sam focuses on building a safe and warm atmosphere for clients using empathy, collaboration, and genuine positive regard.
She is a member of The College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and the Canadian Psychological Association.
