Clinical Therapist

Karin is in the final stages of completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at York University. She completed her predoctoral residency with the Nova Scotia Health Authority hospitals. At The Therapy Centre, she provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to adults across the lifespan.

Karin provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each client’s unique strengths and goals. She is committed to fostering a warm, supportive space where individuals feel empowered to navigate challenges and work toward meaningful change. Through a collaborative approach, she helps clients understand and address emotional, thinking, and behavioural patterns that hinder fulfilling relationships and a satisfying life.

She has worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds in various clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospital units, community mental health services, rehabilitation centers, private practices, and university settings across different provinces in Canada.

Karin provides psychological treatment to individuals with a wide range of concerns including:
Anxiety
• Mood and depression
• Complex trauma, abuse, post-traumatic stress
Grief and loss
• Women’s health concerns (e.g., perinatal and menopausal mental health)
• Physical manifestations of stress and somatic disorders
• Relationship difficulties
• School or workplace stress
• Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
• Self-criticism

To address these concerns, Karin uses a client-centered approach that integrates well-researched techniques tailored to each individual’s unique difficulties. She is trained in a range of evidence-based therapies including:

In addition to psychotherapy, Karin has provided assessment services to individuals following concussion and traumatic brain injury, stroke, memory and thinking concerns related to aging and neurodegenerative disease, ADHD and learning/intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy. Her research has focused on understanding brain and thinking changes in normal and diseased aging, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Karin provides in-person treatment and psychotherapy services at the Toronto location, assessment services at the Oakville location, and virtual services throughout Ontario.
