Samantha Daskaluk obtained her M.A. in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor, where she is currently completing her Ph.D. Her research focuses on young women’s experiences with cyber sexual and dating aggression and how it impacts their mental health and relationships. Sam provides assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and parents.
Before joining The Therapy Centre, Sam obtained training in a variety of settings: a university clinic, a community mental health center, private practices, a school board, and outpatient hospital services. She has extensive training in psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments. With respect to therapy, she was trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and child-focused therapies, and has experience with Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sam works with children and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion dysregulation, OCD, ADHD, aggression, body image issues, and others.
Sam focuses on building a safe and warm atmosphere for clients using empathy, collaboration, and genuine positive regard. She values the inclusion of parents in treatment.
