Dr. Marla McGregor, C.Psych & Co-Director

Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychologist

Dr. Marla McGregor is a registered Psychologist who received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (OISE/UT). She currently works in private practice providing both assessment and treatment services in the areas of counselling, clinical and rehabilitation psychology. Dr. McGregor has a broad base of training and experience working with mood and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, anger and stress management. She also has extensive experience assessing and treating individuals who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents and are struggling with issues such as chronic pain, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and other interpersonal problems.

Dr. McGregor has also recently undergone extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), an empirically validated and best practice approach for trauma and stress.  She also works with individuals who are on short or long disability from their place of employment, working with insurance companies and human resources to help facilitate a successful and sustainable return to work.

In addition, she has facilitated groups on chronic pain, self-esteem, childhood sexual abuse and abusive marital relationships.

Her professional background includes positions at Women’s College Hospital, York University Counselling and Development Centre, Back to Health, Work Able Centres, Toronto Western Hospital, Calgary Counselling Centre and the University of Calgary Counselling Centre.

Dr. McGregor brings a warm and inviting approach to her work with clients, providing a safe and supportive environment to help facilitate growth and change.

Dr. McGregor is a member of The College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and the Ontario Psychological Association.
