It is now publicly recognized that First Responders are exposed to repeated work-related traumas, and over the course of their careers, many experience mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, and are at a much higher risk for suicide.
At The Therapy Centre, we understand the need for strict confidentiality when providing support to First Responders and members of their families. We welcome an initial consultation with any First Responder or family member to discuss possible treatment and to address any questions regarding limits of confidentiality and how we handle requests for information from employers.
At The Therapy Centre, we have clinicians that work with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and employers to coordinate short and long term disability claims and to navigate return to work steps when applicable.
